Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue or stimulate your blood circulation, the Ironman Gravity 4000 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing.

The Gravity 4000 boasts a durable tubular steel frame, a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish, and a memory-foam-vinyl-covered backrest with a removable lumbar pillow. More importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the nylon backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts up to 90 degrees. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself.

Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 350 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; three starting inversion angles; and a patented, palm-activated adjusting ratchet ankle locking system. The Gravity 4000, which folds into a compact footprint for easy storage, measures 26 by 65 by 49 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 75 pounds.

great for lower back pain,

This is the first review I have ever written! I was diagnosed with a bulging disk L5 and had all the symptoms for 8 months. I've had 2 epidural injections and tried the chiropractor to no avail. The shots do help for a while. After the symptoms returned...sitting for a while causes great pain when I try to stand and walk, some pain down my legs, I decided to give one of these a try. Boy does it help. After getting on the table for a couple minutes several times a day for 3 days, I was able to play soccer 3 days later.

The Ironman is a quality product, well constructed, with easy assembly directions. Took me about 30 minutes, straight-forward. Ankle pads are durable and comfortable. Absolutely no complaints here.

I hadn't seen this product in person, but after reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance on it.

I had used another brand inversion table for several months that had been loaned to me and was told it cost several hundred dollars. I've got to say that this Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion Table is far superior to that other one..

The assembly was almost a no brainer, with easy to follow instructions. The only thing I didn't find in the instructions was how to release the locked ankle brace. I ended unscrewing the knob at the top of the lever and opening the brace up and then re-screwing the knob on. Then it worked perfectly.

I love the 2 inch memory foam back! It is really comfortable. Another great feature is the quick release ankle guard. Like all other inversion tables, this machine is adjustable for your height. And like another reviewer did, I also adjusted the height 2 inches taller that I am.

This is a great inversion table, and if you are wondering which one to buy, I would get this one. The Ironman is very sturdy and should last many years.

Nice Stretch and Decompression,

My inversion table came pretty quick. The build was relatively easy, even though I was alone. It takes up to 45min-1hr to build alone. All the parts came with the package.

Here are a few tips:

1) Wear shoes and shorts when using the inversion table. With long pants and without shoes, there is a possibility that the long pants will make you slip out of the braces.

2) Anyone who has a herniated disc will feel the pull and would be able to localize their pain. In other words, your MRI or CT Scan will come to mind when you feel the pain. Its not pain actually. Its more of a discomfort as your body tries to stretch and pull itself with the help of gravity. The lumbar support on the board contorts your body to the natural position your spine should take. For anyone with a herniated disc in the lumbar spine this position may seem discomforting. But no worries once you get off the table you will feel relieved.

3) Do not stay on for more than ten minutes a try or 30 minutes a day. Also, go down slow and come up slowly. You do not want to feel dizzy.

What a Relief!!!,

I have never owned or even tried an inversion table until I bought the Ironman 4000. I am very glad that I did. I don't suffer from extreme back pain like some of the reviews that I read, but I would say that I have mild to moderate back pain on a daily basis. I've been a flooring installer for 26 years & it has taken it's toll!

As for the product, it was shipped directly to my door. It even arrived a couple of days early! It's moderately heavy, so those who don't lift much should be ready for that. Assembly was pretty easy. It comes with its own throw away tools, so you're good there. It took about an hour or so to assemble, but I wasn't pushing it. I could have done it quicker. The directions for use are pretty easy, & in no time I was inverting!

Since I've never hung before, the first time or two was somewhat shocking. I wasn't ready for the pressure in my face, ears & sinuses. I only did it for a minute or two, then gradually learned how to do it properly. What I do is lay on the table flat for a moment, then I take it over slightly for a moment, & gradually work my way to full inversion. It gives my body time to react to the change in blood flow. I've had the machine for about a month now & I feel like an old pro at it! I also do the same thing when coming upright. I bring myself back slowly. Less shock to the system that way.

As for results; I felt relief almost immediately. I try to invert in the morning & then again after work in the evening. I have noticed several physical changes since starting therapy. I can stand up longer without feeling "that pain" that causes me to lean on something. I can't prove it, but my posture feels better. Also, I've had an issue that when I sneeze, I get a sharp pain in my back. That has been slowly getting better! It hasn't been the cure all to all of my problems, but it sure is helping.

As for the down side.... the only negative part that I have found is that it is kind of tough on the ankles. I found that wearing my tennis shoes helps a lot better than bare foot or in socks. But I knew to expect that discomfort by reading these reviews! What do you expect? You're hanging your body upside down from your ankles! The padded, ratcheting clamp works as well as can be expected. I'm about 195 pounds, so I might think that someone who is heavier might feel it more. Oh, one other thing, & it's really not a negative. Be sure you have ample ceiling height for the machine. If you have a low ceiling basement, you'll need close to 7 feet for it to fully invert.

In closing, I am 100% happy with the machine at this point. It's extremely sturdy & well built. It does what it says it does. And in using it as a tool against back pain, it has helped me to improve myself. This is not a tool that will sit in the corner gathering dust! After looking at other reviews, I believe that I made the right choice by shelling out a few extra buckes for the upgraded machine. My inverting experience has been very positive.
